The Wingman is Baum's flagship model from their Original series. Invoking comparisons to a certain "Jazz" styled sixties classic, the Wingman has a wider range of applications with a more balanced overall tone and feel.
Each Wingman is fitted with our punchy pickup, the Jabmaster. Jabmaster is a wide-wound and broader single coil, which increases the pickup’s reactive field and gives a bold and clear tone that surely packs a punch while retaining the dynamics of a single coil.
Goldsound 'Jabmaster' Pickups
Many modern-day guitar manufacturers will equip their instruments with aftermarket electronics. However, Baum is proud to custom design and expertly spec its own pickups — because they "want to tailor the Baum sound", as well as add their own visual style.
Baum's Wingman model comes fitted with a pair of their medium-output, wide-wound Goldsound 'Jabmaster' single-coils. Their construction is fairly unique, as by broadening the winding area — their reactive field is increased. These pickups therefore "pick up" much more, generating a fat and clear tone that packs a serious punch, while still retaining the dynamics of a single coil.
