Surfy Industries Blossom Point

Surfy Industries has taken a liking to creating faithful representations of classic sounds. That is why their reverbs are second to none when it comes to real spring reverbs. This is what makes the Surfy Blossom Point so exciting.

The Fender brownface era only lasted a couple of years in the late 50’s/early 60s, but it produced some amazing new amp features and a lasting tonal impression that continues to be extremely sought after. Like anything in limited quantity, vintage and coveted, the original amps are often prohibitively expensive.

This dilemma is what led the team at Surfy to produce the Blossom Point, a new Amp simulation pedal meticulously engineered to emulate the golden age of Fender Brownface amps. They managed this by recreating a brownface sound at the peak of tube saturation, giving the Blossom Point a warmth and broad sustain that breathes live into any amp, tube or solid-state.

The Blossom Point includes a presence circuit, a staple of the Fender Brownface originals, allowing for complete control of the glassy brilliance its known for. It also has an attenuation control, allowing you to dial in the input signal that best matches the compression stage the pedal is recreating.

The Surfy Blossom Point is a great way to get your hands on a quintessential tone that can be used to enhance any amplifier in your arsenal. An original amp can run thousands of dollars, and often need upgrades and repairs. With the Blossom Point, utilize that unmatched tube warmth in endless ways.

Unlike other stompboxes, the Blossom Point sound enhancer pedal does not even have an on/off button. Simply place it before the input of your amp, and it will do its magic!

CONTROLS

  • Attenuator: Some guitars have very hot pickups, and that signal level can bring the compression stage of the circuit to the point of distortion. Use the Attenuator control knob to lower the input volume, just enough to suit the sound, and find your sweet spot.

  • Presence: One of the ways that brownface amps are unique, is their adjustable "presence" control, which later became the "bright" switch, when the blackface series came out in 1964. This Presence control knob gently increases the high and mid-range frequencies, allowing the sound to be wider, fuller, and crisper, while shaping the tone in a very particular way.

The Blossom Point also features a treasure jewel-shaped red LED, which adds to its vintage look and feel. It glows a warm, but not too bright, ruby red, whenever the pedal is plugged in.

NO TRUE BYPASS

Is a vintage amp true bypass? Changing the tone a little bit is part of the game here and we wanted to keep it so. We did not invent a new effect, our purpose is to allow everybody to enjoy that sound without carrying around a heavy and expensive instrument.
